Krimpet: Sudden Death

Sudden death came to Krimpet, our beloved rabbit on Memorial Day (Monday). The day was wide open and beautiful. Lisa and I had taken the horseshoe curve route to The Allegheny-Portage Site to commemorate our wedding anniversary. Temperatures rose to 78 degrees. Just lovely.

Long story short, returned back to the rabbitry to find our beloved Krimpet dead. No speculation at this time concerning cause of death. This came as a real surprise and quite a loss especially to Emily who has been doing a wonderful job raising Krimpet and Silvio. Silvio lives on and is now in litter training.

Mortimerz Dies: 9/02/13

Tiptoplops misses dearly the beloved rabbit Mortimerz. She was a fine mother to Mulberry, Blackberry, Frosty and grandmother to Krimpett and others. From her earliest bottle feeding (her mother abandoned her) and the possible use of Moby as her name, to her art shredding days (see picture above) and finally in the last months of "nander feedings" she was a brave and affectionate lop. She suffered a lifelong challenge of teeth that grew too quickly, and this ailment led to digestive ailments to great to overcome. The Black Rabbit came in the night to gather her to join his Owsla. She was buried in the Bugz memorial garden. Like the great ones of before her: Blackberry Sr., Magnus, Sox, Vincent and of course, the matriach, Snowflake, she carried the Tiptoplops line further and gave untold hours of joy to all who happened to pass her way. A great loss for the rabbitry today.
